Victoria is one of Canada's hidden treasures. We live on an island, we rarely get winter here, but when we do, it actually will shut the city down, and yesterday was one of those "Surprises" when I woke up in the morning.

So I have been very ill for the past few days, I caught what my daughter had, and omg that little girl is my hero. This is brutal..the coughing, the pain, the pain is unbelievable... I want this over and done with!
well on BC ferry right now.. and love it.. they have wifi.. this rocks.. not going to lie
I'm also very tired. I have been up since 230am .. Adele was pretty sick, so I can feel the adrenaline of this day wearing down. sleepy.. I think I might try and catch some ZZZZ's on this ferry ride.. wish they had couches on this thing, but then again there would be a made dash to get to lay down! WOO HOO I'm off to the Vancouver Boat show tonight. I'm really excited, get to go on a ferry ride and learn Vancouver's transit system. I love my job!
So what can one say it was a Monday.. and I survived it!
New projects to do, I'm pushing myself to learn more illustrator and playing with the perspective tool in CS5. I don't get to spend all that much time working in illustrator so I'm rather enjoying this time learning. I've been using lynda.com as a teaching tool. Really impressed with this website. It's a nice way to refresh and clean the cobwebs out of the brain as well learn some really cool features from a piece of software that I have been using for years! Kudo's to this site. After work, was a immediate rush home, and into my chaps and riding gear and time for my therapy session with me and my two wheel ride! How I love riding my motorcycle. I love the sound she makes when I take off.. so loud and the rumble gives me goose bumps! It's hard to believe that my little girl is three and a half. Today we went to the museum here in Victoria (Royal British Columbia Museum). She is just so smart.. sometimes i don't really know how smart she truly is until we go to the museum. She always blows me away with her questions, and there are times i just have no answers for her. How she can articulate words that I can't even pronounce. She loves the museum, so knows exactly where everything is in that place. There is the regular museum tour, and there is the crib-notes Adele tour.
Today she insisted on wearing her purple dress that Grandma Primeau bought her. It was the most cutest thing to watch her walk up the stairs. She hiked up her dress and marched right up the stairs.. I did everything possible to not laugh... Today I'm about to hand in 20 crochet hats to the hospital for the neo-natal unit.
I'm very excited, a lot of love and time went into each hat. I have been making these hats for a few months now, but these 20 were done in just a couple of weeks. I have been asked why do I make these hats and not sell them... and this is my reply: Each hat has love and individuality as every child is different and unique. I was very very lucky to be able to bring my little one home to love and watch her get older and cherish the new memories that she gives me, but there are some moms and dads that don't get to have that privilege, and upon returning home empty handed and tears in their eyes, I want to make sure that they can take home a treasure and memory that for a moment in time they were able to bring into this world a special life that as brief as it was will always be with them. |
GenevieveI'm a single tattooed, motorcycle riding mom, trying to make sense of this place called earth. I have had my ups and downs. I have found peace with my photography ,crocheting and riding my motorcycle. The love of my life is my daughter Adele, who is my inspiration for everything that I do now. Archives
